It’s Easy to be Green – especially when you’re saving money - and purchasing your home from an Energy Star Market Leader!

In an effort to provide a home that truly holds its value while saving you money and conserving our natural resources, every WestBay home is built to Energy Star 3.1 certification standards.

This means that when compared to another builder that only builds to the current building code, Homes by WestBay will build homes that likely can’t be replicated by these other builders who are not Energy Star 3.1 certified. Moreover, for your peace of mind, our homes are inspected by a third party to verify Homes by WestBay is meeting the required Energy Star requirements.

It’s a conscious practice to be responsible for our impact on the environment and carbon footprint. In recognition, WestBay has received an Energy Star Market Leader award for providing 414 new home buyers in 2017 the experience peace of mind, quality, comfort, and value that come with living in an ENERGY STAR certified home.

What's the HERS rating?

You will see that we show the HERS energy rating for all our designs. The lower the number, the better!

The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is the industry standard by which a home's energy efficiency is measured. It’s also the nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a home’s energy performance. We average a HERS score of 63 on our homes…that equates to more than 30% energy efficiency than a typical home. Many older homes will have a score of 130 which is 30% less energy efficient.
