The Wesley Chapel and New Tampa areas have been growing fast and with this growth comes lots of traffic congestion. The good news is there are some potential solutions in the works to improve the roadways and add new connections between these fast-growing suburbs of Tampa. Moreover, they may possibly provide easier driving routes established between Wesley Chapel and New Tampa.
The Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is setting up a public information meeting for anyone interested in the Wesley Chapel Roadways Connections Study. The meeting is to be held on April 18th, 2017 and will allow the public to make comments and learn information about the road system in the Wesley Chapel area. The study will look at three potential new roadway connectors and examine the pros and cons with each suggestion. They will also develop a transportation improvement plan if and when these connections are constructed.
The three areas that are being considered right now in Pasco County are between:
· Mansfield Boulevard and Kinnan Street
· Meadow Pointe Boulevard and Meadow Pointe Boulevard Extension
· Wyndfields Boulevard and Wyndfields Boulevard Extension
Each of these suggested routes will open new traffic lanes between Wesley Chapel and New Tampa in Hillsborough County. For our residents in the Union Park neighborhood, where Homes by WestBay build homes from the Artisan collection, any of these new routes will help lessen traffic congestion and provide a new route to Hillsborough and into Tampa. If you are interested in learning more, or have any comments about these proposed plans, please attend the meeting on April 18th. We at Homes by WestBay will keep you posted as we learn more about positive improvements that impact our neighborhoods.
